This is one of the most popular treks in the area.From Vaqueria located in the Conchucos valley, you will traverse the Cordillera Blanca from east to west, crossing the Punta Union pass at 4750 m.a.s.l.From this vantage point you will enjoy a great view of the Rinrijirca and other surrounding nevadas as Quitaraju and Artesonraju.After a steep descend into the Santa Cruz valley you arrive at your second campsite at Taullipampa.The next day we follow a narrow trail up to laguna Ariacocha offering magnificent views of the Alpamayo and Aertesonraju peaks.
From here we hike down again into the Santa Cruz valley and reach our third campsite at Llamacoral.The last day, a short hike will take us to Cashapampa, endpoint of this fabulous trek.
For those lacking time, the last part to Cashapampa can be done on day 3, but they will need to pay the cost of transferring to Huaraz.
